What's this all about?

In May 2026, we purchased the former Shiners location at 206 S. Main Street in Fayette, Iowa to preserve its charm while modernizing it internally for personal & professional use. This building will feature supremely boring office space in the front with a (hopefully more fun) residential space in the rear (hence the "mullet" reference.)

Preserving the historic character of the community—mainly by conserving the presence of the Mullet on Main—is our top priority. We’re committed to honoring what’s already here while giving the building a thoughtful next chapter. I’m a proud UIU alum, and my husband and I chose to invest in this property as our way of staying connected to the town, the people, and the university—while creating a space where we don't have to armwrestle for a hotel room at homecoming, have space to work while we are in town, and be the kind of neighbors that people are happy to have on Main Street.

We're old school and don't really do social media, so this site will have our updates and info as we update the Mullet. More information will become available on this website as this project continues, and if you see us around, please don't hesitate to come say hello.
